Ne öğreneceğim?

Prepare to help your community with La Trobe's Diploma in Health. Whether you're looking for a supported pathway into the Bachelor of Health Sciences or if you want to head straight into entry level jobs in health services and organisations, we can give you the skills and knowledge you need.

Explore the social and psychological impacts of health and science. You'll learn the fundamentals of health sciences, including anatomy and physiology.

You'll study the same core health subjects as our Bachelor's degree students, so you'll immerse yourself in university life from day one. What's more, you could earn up to one year's worth of course credit (also called advanced standing) for the subjects you study. This could enable you to enter directly into the second year of a La Trobe Bachelor of Health Sciences.

We'll be with you every step on the way. As a Diploma student, you'll be able to access a dedicated Senior Support Adviser and peer mentors from health degrees. Our team can help you with career advice, academic support and navigating university processes. You can also access La Trobe's Careers Service to put together a plan for the future, with the skills to carry it out.

You'll learn:

Anatomy and physiology

Gain insight into systems in the human body, including the cellular, nervous, muscular, endocrine, renal, respiratory and cardiovascular systems and their impacts on our health.

Teamwork in healthcare

Understand the collaborative nature of healthcare and how consumers and professionals interact in various settings, with a focus on Indigenous and mental health.

Communication in healthcare

Enhance your communication skills for a range of audiences, including writing, speaking and listening. Build your ability to use professional communication to manage conflict and social and cultural differences in healthcare settings.

Research in health and science

Build fluency in using research-based evidence to determine appropriate healthcare techniques.

The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 5 - Diploma.
