The Graduate Certificate of Cultural and Creative Industries is an innovative, interdisciplinary course that provides students with knowledge and skills for researching this exciting and rapidly growing sector, participating in and identifying its employment opportunities. Students gain a detailed understanding of this dynamic sector in close contact with a range of industry professionals and international academic experts exploring live projects from Australia and overseas.

This course is tailored to a range of career ambitions within this sector – in those creative industries concerned with the generation of intellectual property, the arts and public cultural institutions, policy offices, research and the independent and alternative sectors. Students will gain insights into the distinctive qualities of the global cultural and creative industries - how policy is generated and implemented, the nature of creative work and its rewards, methods for researching the cultural economy, the role of culture in sustainable development and the importance of cultural events, exhibitions and festivals. The emphasis is on Australia and its relationship with the growing importance of the Asian economies. Based on our location in Australia’s cultural capital of Melbourne, students will have opportunities to meet local practitioners and experts as well as undertake in-depth analysis of individual cultural industries, cultural projects and international case studies.

Admission to the course requires successful completion of a bachelor's degree with a major in psychology from any course accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) with at least a distinction (70%) average in third-year psychology

An Australian bachelor degree with at least a 50% average, or equivalent qualification, or a minimum of five years work experience in a relevant field approved by the faculty.

Pearson Test of English (Academic): 58 Overall score, No PTE communicative skills score below 50
