This program will prepare students from a variety of backgrounds to successfully transition into the high-growth field of esports. Graduates emerge as highly skilled professionals possessing a unique combination of expertise in online marketing, copyright law, licensing, sponsorship, event management, content creation and much more. In addition to the tactical skills needed to support and generate revenue within the esports ecosystem, graduates possess deep understanding of gaming culture, including players, fans and the games themselves, which are vital to growing a successful career in this exciting field.

As an Esports Business Management graduate, you will be able to:

  • Write proposals, promotional material and presentations using evidence-based research, persuasive communication techniques and graphical elements.
  • Manage applications, software and hardware required in scalable esport environments.
  • Develop strategies for the successful implementation of sponsorship programs and esport sponsorship packages.
  • Assess the planning and implementation requirements for differentiated delivery modes for an esport event to ensure profitability and viability.
  • Research the cultural, economic, political and social demographics of gamers to develop esport events, experiences, and marketing and promotional materials.
  • Adhere to professional, legal, regulatory and ethical standards when performing work and conducting esport business operations.
  • Manage accounting and financial operations to comply with tax and insurance practices for a small to medium-sized business.
  • Manage internal staff and external relationships by applying human resource leadership principles and negotiation skills to promote organizational effectiveness.
  • Manage esport projects and events by using project management principles, tools and strategies to plan, organize and execute events remotely, online and physically.
  • Develop digital and social media promotional strategies to increase the value of the brand of an esport business.
  • Develop and implement selling strategies for both spectator and participant-driven esport events to increase the value of a brand.
