Applicants must have a 75% overall standing in the last two years, or equivalent, in a four-year Honours Bachelor's degree or equivalent is the minimum requirement for admission to a Master's program. Other English language requirements: Paper-Based  TOEFL(PBT): 580; MELAB - Michigan English Language Assessment Battery: 85,80 per section For co-op programs: speaking 3; CAEL - Canadian Academic English Language Assessment: 70, 60 per band, Writing 70,Speaking 70; PTE Academic - Pearson Test of English: 63, Writing 65, Speaking 65; EFAS - English for Academic Success: 75% overall in 400 level with 75% in each of academic, oral, and writing.

Minimum admission requirements

  • Normally an Honours Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Psychology with at least a 80% overall standing, in the last two years, or equivalent.
  • Completion of the Department of Psychology Application.
  • Submit results from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) (Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytic scores).
  • Note: the GRE requirement is being waived for the Fall 2023 intake for students applying to the following graduate research fields within the MA in Psychology program: Clinical Psychology and Social Psychology.
  • Note: students applying to the Cognitive Neuroscience and Cognitive Psychology graduate research fields are required to submit the GRE.
  • Three academic references

English language proficiency

  • Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) - 90; writing 25; speaking 25
  • IELTS (Academic) - 7.0; writing 6.5; speaking 6.5
  • Cambridge English test (C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency) - 185; minimum 176 in each area
  • CAEL - 70; 60 per band; 70 writing; 70 speaking
  • PTE (Academic) - 63; writing 65; speaking 65
  • EFAS - 75% overall in level 400 with at least 75% in writing, oral and academic skills
