Objectives:

This area of Concentration Studies aims to provide students with comprehensive training of knowledge and practical skills in tree management and conservation so as to prepare them for future career development or further study in areas related to the tree conservation and management or environmental-related fields. Distinctive features include:

• Providing both tree management theory and practical training including tree assessment, planting, different caring work as well as conservation and preservation work;
• Applying practical skills in tree identification, planting and maintenance, and tree risk assessment through field studies, site visits, and summer internship programmes.

Career Prospect

Graduates will be recognised as QF Level 4 in “Arboriculture and Horticulture Industry” under the HK Qualification Framework. They can apply for tree-related jobs in government departments, building and construction companies, green groups and consultancy firms. And they are eligible to take the examination of Certified Arborist of the International Society of Arboriculture (USA) after two-year full time tree-related work experience.
