The aim of the program is to provide a structured doctoral program in Modern Irish for students who wish to undertake high research in certain areas of discipline. The objectives of the program are generic skills.
Course Structure
The program will be delivered through varied, transferable, subject specific modules, and modules provided by the Department and other Faculty departments, and, where appropriate, modules provided in other institutions in Ireland or abroad, through practical lessons, conference papers presentations, attending master classes and / or summer / winter schools.

Honors first degree with second honors grade 1 (II.1) in the Irish language required for this phase. Postgraduate (MA, MLitt honors) usually tend to those who undertake a PhD in Modern Irish.
