The BA (Hons) English and Drama programme will support you in developing your critical and analytical abilities, and deepen your appreciation for literature and theatre.You will develop your writing, close-reading and research skills, and learn to present arguments coherently and creatively. In the School of English, you will be taught by world-leading academics and practitioners offering a diverse range of modules. You will study literature and drama from various major periods, movements and genres.You will also have the opportunity to stage a play, and study film, art, and philosophies of relevance to drama and literature. Your degree will allow you to tailor your studies to your individual interests and career aspirations with both a local and global outlook. What's covered in the course?English as a discipline continues to be relevant to the lives we lead and is central to a wide range of contemporary and social contexts. Students need to Pass the High School Graduation Diploma with a GPA of 2.6 / 75% including a minimum grade C in English Language (and grade C in Maths for Business School / TEE courses that require GCSE Maths) PLUS OLD (Pre March 2016) Pass SATR (Reasoning) with a minimum of 500 in 3 subjects, NEW (Post March 2016) Pass SAT (Reasoning) with a combined score from 2 subjects of 1100 out of 1600 OR Pass ACT (American College Testing Programme) with a composite score of 21 or above PLUS OLD (Pre March 2016) Pass SATS II with a minimum of 500 in 3 subjects, NEW (Post March 2016) Pass SAT (Subject) with a minimum of 500 in 3 subjects OR Pass 3 AP (Advanced Placement Examinations) with grade 3 or above. TEE courses that require A Level Maths will require AP Maths (Calculus). Undergraduate Art and Design courses may require a good portfolio of artwork. All undergraduate courses in CEBE require Mathematics at O Level. However for the Engineering suite and BEng Telecommunication and Networks, Mathematics is required at AS Level minimum Grade C or the equivalent. All Business School undergraduate courses require a minimum of Mathematics Grade C at O Level or an equivalent qualification. Students need to have an IELTS of 6.0 overall (with no band below 5.5).
