The Gloucestershire College BSc in Film Production with Applied Technology validated by Birmingham City University is primarily designed to provide Edexcel Higher National Diploma Creative Media Production students with a pathway to a level six qualification. Its aim is to merge film theory / practice, critical thinking, and technical competence with creativity. Delivered as a top-up third year after the HND programme, the degree combines a study of audiovisual technologies, management systems and contextual investigations to develop understanding and practice relevant to the production of digital film artefacts and to the film industry. Our graduates are versatile, adaptable, technically literate, creative and business-like. They are well equipped to perform a variety of roles within firms, bridging the gap between technical specialists and creative professionals.AREAS OF FOCUS:Script to screen production of a 10-15 minute funded short for festival distribution.Working on set (studio and location) with paid professional actors.Advanced lighting techniques.Arri Alexa, Arri Amira, or Red Dragon work.Nagra, Sound Devices or Zoom sound recorder work.Post-production with either Adobe, Avid or Apple software.RECENT TRIPS:The Toronto International Film Festival in Canada.
