This programme offers a next step after completing an 8-week course, and an opportunity to develop your learning in the area of your professional activity, whatever it may be. You will consider how mindfulness informed approaches to well-being might enhance personal, organisational and wider community ways of being in the 21st Century. Although it is online learning, weekly practice drop-in sessions are designed to create a sense of community amongst students, wherever you are based.

Course Overview

The programme focuses on key areas of personal practice, compassion-based practice and culture and communities.

It starts with the individual, in the context of their workplace, expands to consider a compassion-based approach and then widens to encompass culture and communities, with sustainability as a focus throughout.

It engages with the good practice and integrity that informs approaches to mindfulness, as well as the wider political agenda where mindfulness seeks to inform policy.

The programme connects theory, practice and consideration of professional impact to enhance both personal and workplace well-being.


There are no examinations in this programme of study. Assessments are designed to enable students demonstrate their academic understanding in the context of personal development and professional activity. They will constitute some of the following:

  • Case study
  • Reflective essays
  • Written assignments
  • Presentation

Students who hold a Bachelor Degree or First Professional Degree will also be considered. A full certified transcript must accompany applications.

Uluslararası öğrenciler için

Applicants are normally required to hold an honours degree. Vocational qualifications and experience will also be considered. Applicants are also required to have completed an 8-week course from the following list, (which may be updated): Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR); Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT); Dotb Foundations; Mindfulness: Finding Peace in a Frantic World; Mindfulness for Education Leaders (MEL); The Present for Adults. Applicants undertaking Module HBMW7001, The Mindful Practitioner (Schools) are also required to have trained in one of the following, (which may be updated): Teach dotb (Mindfulness in Schools Project); Teach pawsb (Mindfulness in Schools Project); The Present. An overall English Language level equivalent to an IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent) with no lower than 5.5 in reading writing, listening and speaking. TOEFL: An overall minimum score of 72 is required with the following minimum scores in each of the following communicative skills: Reading - minimum score of 18 Listening – minimum score of 17 Writing – minimum score of 17 Speaking – minimum score of 20.
