This Integrated Masters in Languages (MLang) leads to a full master’s award and offers you the same choice and flexibility as the BA programmes. By studying linguistics alongside French and Spanish, you’ll have the opportunity to explore a broad range of subfields from the ‘nuts and bolts' of language (such as the articulations of the mouth involved in speech, and the principles underlying the structure of sentences), to how its properties are acquired; from how language varies according to its speakers. The programme will provide you with an overarching learning environment solidly rooted in key disciplinary contexts such as politics, socio-historical studies, ethnography and cultural studies which are all central to the understanding of other societies and culture. The flexible curriculum enables you to balance your choice of modules according to your own interests.
