To be considered for admission to a master's degree programme at the University of Bristol, the minimum requirement for entry is an undergraduate (bachelor’s) degree that is equivalent to a UK upper second-class degree (also known as a 2:1). A CGPA of 3.2 or above is considered equivalent to a UK upper second-class degree. Students need to have an IELTS 6.0 overall with either listening or speaking at 6.5, with no skill below 6.0.

A good MSc degree or international equivalent in Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Computer science or other very quantitative based subjects. Students with a strong upper second-class honours degree (65% or higher) or international equivalent in Economics or other quantitative based subject will also be considered. Evidence of strong performance (minimum 2:1 or international equivalent) in Economics and/or Mathematics modules will also be required. IELTS: 6.5 overall with 7.0 in reading and listening, and no score below 6.0; TOEFL iBT: 88 overall with R24, L22, S21, W20; Pearson PTE: 66 average with 67 in reading and listening, and no skill below 60; Cambridge CAE: Grade B, or Grade C with reading and listening at 184, or Level B2 with reading and listening at 184, and no skill below 168; Cambridge CPE: Grade C, or Level C1; Trinity Integrated Skills in English (ISE) Level IV: with pass in all skills; Trinity Integrated Skills in English (ISE) Level III: with merit in reading and listening, and pass in all other skills.
