This course will help you develop your understanding behind the science and technology of music. You will cover everything from recording to production, and will put you knowledge to practice through collaboration projects.Throughout our BSc (Hons) Music Technology you’ll be supported by our industry-experienced lecturers. Our suppliers include Sennheiser, Midas, Focusrite, Novation, University Audio, Native Instruments, and AC Lighting.There are a wide range of creative facilities to explore, from our music rehearsal space, to our TV studios and green-screen room. You can also access live event venues such as the Students’ Union, Wycombe Swan Theatre and Wycombe Town Hall.**What will I study?**During the course, you’ll learn about software engineering, electronics engineering, and recording studio engineering – learning the science behind audio hardware and software. This knowledge may allow you to develop your own technology software or hardware products. You’ll also cover acoustics and psychoacoustics, learning about the psychology behind the perception of sound, and the physiological effects it can have.Other topics covered on the course include sound design, sonic art, experimental music composition, post production audio, and mixing and mastering for different media applications.**What are my career prospects?**Our BSc (Hons) Music Technology course will help prepare you for a range of career possibilities, such as:- Audio engineer- Mix engineer- Mastering engineer- Live sound engineer (for music, theatre etc)- Systems technician- Studio technician- Acoustician- Installation specialist- TV or radio recording- Product designer- Sound editor- Programmer.

Students require successful completion of a High School Diploma with GPA above 2.8, plus one of the following: SAT with a minimum of 1100 overall, and a minimum of 550 from Evidence Based Reading and Writing, and Mathematics; Minimum of 3 APs with grades above 3. International students with IELTS 6.0 (5.5) or below will have to undertake an enhanced curriculum in addition to the advertised programme.
