Our course explores all these fascinating ideas, and will prepare you for teaching or a range ofcareers relating to education.Our BA (Hons) in Primary Education Studies course is the first step towards a rewarding career in education, and possiblybecoming a primary school teacher. With a balance of theory and reflection on current practice, you’ll graduate with a thoroughunderstanding of education history, policy and current professional practice in the primary school classroom in areas such asdeveloping children’s mathematical and literacy skills, the wider curriculum subjects, lesson planning, and classroommanagement.Our course is designed for those looking for a career working with or for children of primary school age and/or their families. Thekey focus is on children of primary school age and includes educational, health, welfare, psychological, sociological, legal,philosophical, political and economic perspectives.You will gain the knowledge and understanding you need to prepare lessons, manage classroom behaviour and teach literacyand numeracy. You will have opportunities to observe teaching practice in local schools and on completion of the course you willbe ideally placed to gain a place on a postgraduate teacher training course.
