APP students receive personalized advising, and participate in classes, seminars, and workshops that develop academic soft skills like intercultural and socio-emotional awareness and understanding; critical thinking and analysis; time management; and real-world problem solving. They will also refine key technical academic skills like analytical reading, academic writing, research, presentation, and academic English language to help them succeed in the American college classroom. Another benefit of APP is extended timelines for UC undergraduate admission application submission, and this year, a waived SAT UC admission requirement.
This year, students will participate in a hybrid program that combines online learning with in-person class sessions. Students gain up to 36 undergraduate credits prior to university admission, and they may even be able to start their first year as a sophomore vs. a freshman.
