Shakespeare famously wrote that “the past is prologue.” Because history suggests much about the future, it merits study. The paths we choose to take can always benefit from an understanding of those we have taken before.
History is the fascinating field of study that lends us those valuable perspectives. It is also a degree program that can prepare you well for a career in journalism, law, archeology and the arts.
The courses you will take include U.S. History as well as Western and World Civilization. All of our professors hold a Master’s degree or higher in the field and are more than willing and able to invest the time and attention needed to bring lessons to life in our small-class environment. When you complete your Associate’s degree, you will be able to transfer to a four-year college or university and continue your studies toward a Bachelor’s degree with credit for your coursework at Butler.
