The University offers a bachelor of science (B.S.) degree in engineering technology.
Engineering Technology is a multidisciplinary program that provides a strong engineering technology background combined with the opportunity to specialize in one or more technology areas. Graduates possess the critical thinking skills and knowledge of various engineering technologies that are highly valued assets to employers in a wide variety of industries.
Students also complete the University's Foundational Studies Program, which provides the knowledge students need in critical thinking, leadership, and interpersonal and communication skills.
The department offers small class sizes, which allow for individual attention. Coursework is centered in the University's John T. Myers Technology Center, which houses more than 20 state-of-the-art laboratories filled with up-to-date equipment and supplies. The University has student chapters for the Society of Automotive Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Institute of Packaging Professionals, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and Females in Technology.
Special Note: The University has a transfer agreement with Ivy Tech Community College that allows for seamless transfer of Ivy Tech's associate of science (A.S.) in engineering technology to ISU's bachelor of science (B.S.) in engineering technology. This agreement enables Ivy Tech students to study for two years at Ivy Tech then finish their final two years of coursework for their bachelor's at ISU. Selected courses in the program are available via online learning.
