Humanities B.A. Concentration in European Studies provides a San Jose State home for the study of European cultures. Our courses, research, and events emphasize the cultural, political, and social aspects of the Europe, past and present. In addition to our core faculty, we draw our instructors from departments throughout the university in order to integrate disciplines and themes.
Upon graduation, students who have a concentration in European studies will have a good grasp of Western culture, an appreciation of literature and the fine arts, an understanding of fundamental moral and political issues, and an ability to analyze and assess human experience with some acumen.
Supporting the European Studies:
Because San Jose State University is a public, state-assisted institution, adequate funding is always a concern for the university, and consequently the European Studies. If you have the means to make a financial contribution to the program it would be greatly appreciated.
