Health promotion and fitness management is a growing field of professionals, increasing in significance in today's society.
Illinois Wesleyan's Health Promotion and Fitness Management Major (HPFM) serves as a launching point for careers in the health and fitness industry, and a great foundation for advanced study in high-demand areas such as exercise science, physical therapy, occupational therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, chiropractic, sports nutrition, biomechanics, athletic training and more.
Future professions could include a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Physical Therapist (PT), Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), Wellness Director, and others.
With coursework in biology, health, and exercise science, our students gain knowledge and competencies related to a variety of health and fitness settings. Our broad-based general curriculum prepares students for success, whether you envision a future as an entrepreneur or pursuing graduate study to become a health care provider.
