The Bachelor of Science in Education for Exceptional Student Education is designed to qualify its graduates to teach ESE placements in grades K-12. Admission to Broward College does not constitute admission to the Teacher Education Program; a supplemental application is also required. Students must meet all Teacher Education Program admission requirements before acceptance into the program. In addition to the required coursework, students must pass the Florida Teacher Certification Exams. The Bachelor of Science in Education uses a 2+2 model requiring the completion of an Associate of Arts Degree, or at least 60 semester credit hours of postsecondary education from a regionally accredited college or university for entry into the program; these must include 36 hours of General Education Core Requirements.

Students must pass on any one of the four (English, Essay, Mathematics, Reading) subtests of the General Knowledge Exam.
A cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale for the general education component of undergraduate studies.
Other English Language Requirements: TOEFL - minimum score of 550 on the paper-based test, Cambridge English Advanced - minimum score of 176, Successful completion of ENG IV at a U.S .high school or university level English at an accredited U.S. university with a grade of C or better.
