Students who complete the Nevada Teach Secondary Education and Community Health Sciences program will earn a dual degree: the Bachelor of Science in Education/Secondary Education and the Bachelor of Science with a major in Community Health Sciences. This program provides students with a strong background in Community Health Sciences and includes all of the coursework required to apply for certification to teach Health at the secondary level (grades 7 -12) in the State of Nevada. Graduates of this program will be prepared to: (a) pursue an immediate career in the field of Community Health Sciences; (b) enter a graduate program; or (c) teach Health courses at the middle or high school level.

To be admitted to an undergraduate degree program as a regular freshman student, you must be a graduate from an approved or accredited high school. You must have a 3.0 weighted GPA in the academic core courses in order to be admitted to the University of Nevada, Reno.
Verification of having met the English requirement through one of the following options: TOEFL score 61+; IELTS (must be academic version) with a score of 6.0+; Duolingo English Exam score 95+; Cambridge score of B2+.
