• Early, hands-on experience outside the classroom
• Optional Missouri teaching certification: early childhood (birth – third grade) or early childhood/special education (birth – third grade)
• Development of creative, critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Development of effective communication skills, ability to work both individually and as part of a team
• Internship/practicum placements that encourage student’s individual professional interests
• This program is approved by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Fontbonne University meets rigorous national standards for educator preparation set by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation.
