Madonna’s Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology degree builds a comprehensive understanding of the science of human behavior and cognition and the applicability of these two areas to a wide range of professional fields – from counseling to education to business.

The degree includes robust coursework in general psychology, the developmental life-span, research and quantitative methods, theories of personality, behavioral neuroscience, and cognitive psychology. Bachelor’s Degree Concentrations

The B.S. in Psychology degree at Madonna provides the choice of two concentrations that allow students the opportunity to specialize in their area of interest. These pathways prepare students for engaging careers that are best-fit to their individual goals.

General Psychology

The general psychology concentration positions students to pursue future employment in a diverse set of career paths, including community and social services, residential care, and human resources. In addition, it is a popular choice for students who wish to continue their education through graduate study in law or business.

Mental Health Psychology

The mental health concentration of the psychology major prepares students for entry-level positions in mental health and social service agencies. Students in this concentration complete two mental health field placement experiences where they can apply in-classroom knowledge in real-world clinical settings.

This concentration includes the training needed in order to provide basic clinical services as psychological technicians, case managers, or crisis intervention workers. Further exemplifying Madonna’s strong community connections, students in the mental health concentration are regularly employed by the agency where they completed their field placement.
