To understand the complex and increasingly global nature of crime and criminal organizations, law enforcement agencies look to hire highly-trained professionals with advanced research and analytical skills. The dual B.S./M.A. program in Criminal Justice and Sociology will allow you to develop these valuable skills and complete both degrees in just five years of full-time study.
While still working toward your undergraduate Criminal Justice degree, you’ll enroll in four approved graduate courses in Sociology. These courses will still apply to your bachelor’s degree if for any reason you do not wish to continue at the master’s level after four years.
Career Outcomes
In the dual B.S./M.A. program in Criminal Justice and Sociology, you’ll learn both the structure and practices of the criminal justice system and how to collect, analyze, dual interpret data related to crime patterns, causes, and solutions. Your dual studies will allow you to have an impact on global and local crime rates, as well as practices within the criminal justice system related to the treatment of offenders. The knowledge and skills you’ll gain through the program will allow you to advance in careers related to law enforcement, computer crime, international crime, organized crime, social justice, and the legal system.
This course will also offer in College of Professional Studies.
