The Department of Geological Sciences focuses on advancing our understanding of earth and applying that knowledge to problems of societal importance. Our faculty members apply interdisciplinary approaches to four main themes: climate change, environmental research, evolution and ecology, and volcanology. Graduate studies are aimed at preparing students for careers in the private sector, government research organizations and in academia. Students receive specialized training in their selected focus areas but also are exposed to the full breadth of the department's expertise in order to provide balance and career flexibility.

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 hours of undergraduate work. GRE scores; however, there is no minimum score. The results are used to evaluate your potential.

Uluslararası öğrenciler için

Applicants must complete an academic program equivalent to a US bachelor's degree.

The minimum score of TOEFL IBT is 79, the minimum score TOEFL PBT is 550, the minimum score of IELTS is 6.5, the minimum score of PTE is 55, the minimum score of Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE) Old Scale is 60, New Scale is 185, the minimum score of Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) Old Scale is 65, New Scale is 185.

Students are advised to submit their online application (including recommendation letters and GRE scores) by December 15 for the following fall semester and November 1 for the following spring semester.
