The UTA College of Education provides four options for earning a masters’ degree, offering the flexibility you have been looking for and the personal support you need. Options exist for online programs in literacy, math, and science education. Face-to face coursework can also be tailored to the master’s program. Choose the degree option that best fits your goal. The mathematics education, non-thesis master’s degree is designed for classroom teachers in grades K-12, district content specialists, and those in a variety of alternative educational settings, such as museums and corporate education/outreach divisions. Courses emphasize teaching mathematics to students in grades K-12, using problem-based, inquiry-based teaching strategies consistent with math disciplines and centered on how people learn.

Proof of two or more years of relevant experience.
Undergraduate transcripts with at least a 3.0 GPA during the last 60 hours or at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. The higher of these GPAs will be used for admission purposes. A 3.0 GPA on the last 9 hours of graduate coursework may be considered in place of the undergraduate GPA.
Two professional letters of reference. Letters from supervisors are strongly encouraged. Applicants for the M.Ed. in Special Education submit a personal statement of interest. Applicants for M.Ed. in Special Education who are not certification seeking submit only a personal statement of interest rather than letters of reference.
For IELTS, we require a minimum score of 6.5.
TOEFL internet-based- 79 (with sectional scores of 22 writing, 21 speaking, 20 reading, or 16 listening)
Duolingo, we require a minimum score of 100.
