This degree program is offered on campus or online. This graduate degree program provides students with the necessary experiences and information to work with young children, both typically developing and those with disabilities, and their families in a variety of settings, including both home and school. The program also focuses on working effectively with families and children from a variety of cultures and how to provide intervention in a culturally consistent manner.
The master’s degree program in early childhood special education is 30 credit hours. In the on-campus program, there are six required courses. Additional course work is negotiated with the adviser.

A completed baccalaureate degree
At least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) in the last 60 hours of undergraduate course work
GRE scores from within the past five years
Combined verbal reasoning and quantitative reasoning: 291 or better
Analytical writing: 3.5 or better
For students whose native language is not English, a score of 100 or better on the TOEFL or a grade band score of 7 or better on the IELTS taken within the past two years, TOEFL Paper-based 600
