The Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS) was established in 1947. It is affiliated to the University of London and is a member-institute of the School of Advanced Study. IALS is a postgraduate legal research institute with a core team of researchers, research students and legal information professionals. At the IALS, students will work with over 100 peers and researchers, alongside internationally renowned academics and visiting fellows. The IALS promotes and disseminates the results of advanced study and research in law and offers a number of courses and training opportunities at the postgraduate level. The IALS library is considered a national and international resource for legal research. The IALS campus is centrally located in the heart of London with good transport links.
