Brigham Young University – Idaho had its beginnings as Ricks College. The college officially became known as Brigham Young University- Idaho in 2000. The private university offers associate and bachelors degrees through six colleges: Agriculture and Life Sciences, Business and Communication, Education and Human Development, Language and Letters, Performing and Visual Arts, and Physical Sciences and Engineering. Approximately 12,000 students attend the university which has its campus in Rexburg, Idaho.
