This involves the analysis of government structures, historical political trends and the role of ideas and ideologies in politics. It extends from global systems to nation states to local communities and it varies dramatically in form and practice. Politics is central to addressing the shared concerns of citizens and political science highlights the underlying forces that drive and constrain power and government.
The First Year:
Political Science 100 explores some of the key concepts, theories and methods which can be brought to the study of power in society. This involves an examination of ideologies, governmental institutions, political regimes and processes in both the developed and developing worlds.
Rewarding Careers In Political Science
Political Science students can pursue careers in law, business, international organizations, journalism, non-governmental organizations, teaching, policy research, and public administration.

Applicants must have English and four university preparatory courses in grade 12.
Students with an IELTS score of 6.5 and no band below 6.0 will be deemed to have satisfied the English language requirements for admissions to undergraduate programs. Other acceptable tests include: MELAB (minimum score required is 90), TOEFL iBT (minimum score required is 90 and no lower than 20 in each band), CAEL (minimum score required is 71), CAE (minimum score required is 180 overall and no lower than 170 in each band.
