This 10-month program is designed to provide employment preparation training for adults with mild developmental disabilities. Our post-secondary setting enables learners to further their education beyond high school to transition to the workforce. Through a combination of classroom and workplace instruction, you will get training on current equipment, an understanding of current workplace practices, food safety and handling skills, and independent living skills including financial literacy and budgeting. Your self-confidence and marketable skills will increase while receiving ongoing, intensive support and mentoring from college faculty and staff.During the classroom portion (term 1) of the program, you will take part in job safety skills, workplace communication, career planning, and employment preparation. You will also have the opportunity to take part in community-based learning events including various field trips and volunteer opportunities.
