Science communication is an interdisciplinary field of research and practice that focuses on the many ways in which we can engage audiences with the processes, outcomes, and implications of science and technology. Students build the theoretical foundations and practical experiences needed for a meaningful career in science communication. Join the first and only graduate program of its kind in Canada that trains future science communication professionals. The program is delivered in partnership with Science North, providing students with hands-on learning experiences with an industry-leading science centre. With an emphasis on foundational theory in the first term and practical skill development in the second term, you will apply your knowledge of audience-focused communication strategy, design and rhetorical theory, social and traditional media production, best practices for interactive science experiences, and social science research methods to address the current issues with communicating science-related topics to non-specialist audiences.
