Psychology is the scientific study of the relationship between mind and behaviour. Psychology component of the programme (75percent) covers the discipline’s main areas, namely social psychology, developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, biological psychology, individual differences and research methods, and emphasises their application to various employment-related contexts. The management component of the programme (25%) introduces a range of topics that are relevant to psychology such as consumer behaviour, marketing, human resource management and project management. Teaching and assessment emphasises application to real world issues and enhances transferable employability skills such as numerical and computer literacy, communication and teamwork. A critical component of the BSc Psychology with Management programme is the Industrial Training that takes place at the end of the second year, to gain first hand experience of the world of work.
