Bachelor of Arts with Honours - Cultural Anthropology

Anthropology explores the way culture shapes all areas of our lives. Postgraduate study will help you build on your understanding of cultural diversity and discover new ways to address today's compelling social issues. Develop professional skills in advanced qualitative research methods, from participant observation and ethnographic interviewing to forms of visual analysis and participatory action research. You'll engage in critical debates, develop your writing and presentation skills, foster an international academic network and build a well-rounded CV. At the School of Social and Cultural Studies, you'll learn from widely published lecturers whose research is recognised both nationally and internationally. You'll need to complete 120 points over one year, or if studying part time, over a maximum of four years. At Honours level your learning will be more self-directed. You'll have the opportunity to do a 30-point research project and this will include designing, undertaking and reporting on a research project under supervision. As an Honours student you'll be in smaller classes and will be able to build closer relationships with academic staff.
