This endorsed research degree is completed by a thesis and coursework. It aims to provide a research-focused learning environment in which you can develop your independent problem solving skills through supervised research. The degree may be awarded with Distinction. Study in a number of advanced Engineering courses will provide each student with key technical knowledge to enhance and support their research activities. The Master of Engineering degree is awarded as an endorsed degree in an area of specialisation: Bioengineering Chemical and Process Engineering Civil Engineering Construction Management Earthquake Engineering Electrical and Electronic Engineering Mechanical Engineering Software Engineering Transportation Engineering Te Tari Puhanga Metarahi, Rawa Taiao, Department of Civil and Natural Resources Engineering strives to attain the highest possible standards in both teaching and research at graduate level. Students and staff work closely together to extend and challenge their talents and abilities. The Department has extensive laboratory and office space, in-house computing, and access to an engineering library. Students from throughout the world are welcomed in the Department. UC graduates obtain employment internationally. Excellence in research has been recognised with distinguished awards from Aotearoa New Zealand and international institutions won by our staff. The Department takes pride in providing a comprehensive, practical, and stimulating educational learning experience. We also offer a variety of block courses for working engineers to increase their skill levels while still in employment.
