Students majoring in accounting at Irvine Valley College focus on the principles and practices of accounting. The training they receive is intended to prepare them to make critical decisions based on data contained in various financial reports and statements. It also prepares them for entry-level accounting positions in the public and private sectors in such areas as service, merchandising, and manufacturing companies or transferring.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
Demonstrate the ability to prepare financial reports and financial statements in public and private sector accounting.
Demonstrate the ability to exercise judgment, including ethical considerations, and use analytical techniques to make common business decisions.

All applicants must provide proof of graduation from high school (or equivalent) in the form of official records/transcripts with certified English translation (if necessary). Students should submit transcripts from all years of study at the high school level. Students may also submit the GED or HISET to fulfill this requirement.
English proficiency can be met by submitting one of the following English proficiency tests:
