Ne öğreneceğim?

Roosevelt’s philosophy program helps students explore essential human questions. It fosters the deep critical thinking, incisive writing and effective speaking employers value. The program is home to the Montesquieu Forum, giving students world-class scholarly experience outside the classroom. Students participate and bond in exciting interdisciplinary courses in which the students and the instructor strive to get to the heart of the issues under discussion. Full-time faculty teach in small classes and are committed to student success by providing mentorship to students. Students complete a senior research project designed by the student in consultation with faculty. The Montesquieu Forum for the Study of Civic Life presents an annual series of public lectures with eminent speakers from around the world, followed by dinner and discussion. It has also hosted Summer Academies for high school teachers, high school essay competitions on the Declaration of Independence and essay competitions and conferences for Roosevelt University Honors Students. The philosophy program is deeply influenced by Roosevelt’s social justice mission, and that spirit is woven into our curriculum. The program is the perfect blend of logical rigor, social consciousness and existential questioning. In keeping with the University’s mission, a discussion of the nature of justice runs through most courses.

Self-reported academic information from high school. A freshman applicant is defined as an individual who has completed or will complete a high school degree or its equivalent and has fewer than 12 transferrable college credit hours. The admission requirements for freshman applicants are as follows: Roosevelt requires applicants to attain a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 2.0 for at least 3 years of study. Self-reported information is accepted for most programs but an official transcript will be required if you are admitted to Roosevelt University. If you took dual enrollment classes at your local community college as part of your high school diploma, you will need to submit transcripts from your community college in addition to your high school transcripts. Roosevelt is test-optional. If you have taken the ACT or SAT we encourage you to send your scores, though these are not required for admission.
