The Biochemistry program is rooted in interdisciplinary studies and learning opportunities that integrate Biology and Chemistry. The student who graduates with a biochemistry major will be prepared for graduate programs (M.S. and Ph.D.), medical and health professions programs, and a variety of career paths in the biotechnology sector, including the pharmaceutical sciences, bioanalytical sciences or any field that involves the investigation of biomolecules. Additional career paths include medicine, teaching, research, dentistry, veterinary sciences and agriculture. A minor in biology is integrated into the biochemistry major.

To be considered for admission, applicants should have: A high school diploma with a minimum of 22 units of credits; A high school grade point average of at least 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale). Applicants who do not meet the criteria listed above will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may be asked to submit a personal statement before an admission decision is made.

The following are acceptable means of providing proof of English proficiency: TOEFL: 69 overall with no sub score lower than 15, or IELTS: 6.0 with no sub score lower than 5, or DET: 95, or PTE Academic: 47 or ELS Centre: Level 112 completed with a 2.5 grade or better. Application deadline: June 1st for the Fall semester and by November 1st for the Spring semester.
