Building upon its tradition of excellence, the animal science doctoral program allows students to discover, develop and distribute scientific knowledge to advance the animal and food industries. The OSU Department of Animal and Food Sciences has distinguished programs in teaching, research and Extension.The doctor of philosophy degree in animal science requires a minimum of 90 credit hours beyond the bachelor's degree, or a minimum of 60 credit hours beyond the master's degree in a related discipline.
