Doctor of Philosophy, Mining Engineering (Ph.D.)

West Virginia University

To be eligible for the Mining Engineering graduate program, applicants must submit three letters of recommendation, a statement of purpose, and GRE scores, along with a master's degree and a bachelor's degree from a properly recognized institution. While the general minimum cumulative GPA is 2.75 on a 4.0 scale, this program requires a higher minimum GPA of 3.0 from an ABET-accredited BSMinE program or its equivalent (transfer students must also meet this 3.0 minimum for similar graduate programs), though certain requirements may be waived based on a preliminary program review.
