The Middle East Culture and Pedagogy Graduate Certificate is a two semester course of non-degree graduate study designed to serve the needs of Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistants, international or domestic students exploring advanced study, K-12 teachers and other professionals seeking formal or informal continuing education certification, or non-degree seeking students developing qualifications for possible admission to the MENAS MA or other graduate programs. Students will register for twelve graduate credits (normally four 3 credit 500 level courses) distributed as follows.
3 credits of Middle Eastern language pedagogy or a 500 level pedagogy class approved by the MECAP advisor
6 credits of 500 level MENAS courses on culture, literature, linguistics, advanced language, Islamic studies, gender, history, or politics
3 credits of additional MENAS graduate work or graduate level work in another discipline or area studies program (such as American studies) to be approved by the MECAP advisor
