Curriculum Overview
Through coursework and intensive study, the Ph.D. in higher education administration prepares future leaders, administrators and teachers for the college and university sector. Courses focus on (1) the analysis of issues related to college student and higher education administration; (2) application of discipline-based literature to higher education practice; (3) application of best practice; and (4) research competency. Courses are grounded in a social justice and inclusion framework.

The Ph.D. in higher education administration program is intended for those students interested in pursuing careers in higher education teaching and/or administration.
Learning Outcomes
Graduates will be able to use guided practice in student development, organizational, and environmental theories to analyze issues related to college students and higher education administration.
Graduates will be able to interpret and apply discipline-based literature to higher education administration practice.
Graduates will apply benchmark practices in leadership, communication, organization, finance, assessment, and management in higher education administration.

English Language Proficiency Requirements
To ensure a successful academic experience at Saint Louis University, we require international applicants to demonstrate they are proficient in the English language by submitting scores from any one of the following standardized tests:
IELTS minimum score of 6.5; Internet-based TOEFL (IBT) minimum score of 80; Paper-based TOEFL (PBT) minimum score of 550; PTE minimum score of 54; Duolingo minimum score of 125.
Application Deadlines
International students should apply by May 1 for the fall semester, Oct.1 for the spring semester, and Feb. 1 for the summer semester.
