M.S. in Forensic Science Advanced Laboratory

36-credit hour program designed to provide a fundamental understanding of the application of scientific techniques to forensic investigations and the criminal justice system.The M.S. Forensic Science Advanced Laboratory degree program is accredited by the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission (FEPAC). This program is ideal for students interested in specialized areas of forensic science that typically are housed in laboratory settings, including biology/DNA, chemistry, toxicology, and microbial forensics. It is also recommended for students interested in crime laboratory positions in latent prints or firearms analysis depending on the student’s science background.Students that are interested in fields that are less laboratory-based such as crime scene investigation, medicolegal death investigation, firearms analysis, latent prints, psychology, law enforcement, legal studies, and federal intelligence agencies are directed to join the M.S. Forensic Science degree program.
