Molecular Genetics and Genomics (M.S.)

The Molecular Genetics and Genomics (MGG) Master of Science (MS) program offers a didactic, laboratory and human biology-oriented curriculum in modern genetics and genomics. The MS in MGG includes both Plan A (research thesis required) and Plan B (essay required) degree plans. Plan B was added because we have found that not all students are looking for an MS degree that requires work in the laboratory. For example, individuals training for careers in education or seeking advance in their current employment might find that Plan B is sufficient to meet their educational goals or the demands of their employer. We expect that in special cases successful completion of the Plan A or Plan B MS program may serve as a springboard for admission to our PhD program.
