Liverpool Hope Sanctuary Scholarship

The Sanctuary Scholarships have been established to help prospective students who have sought refuge in the UK and are unable to access student loans or other sources of statutory funding available in the UK, due to their residency status.

To be considered for a Sanctuary Scholarship you must be able to demonstrate that you meet at least one of the following conditions at the point your application for the Scholarship is made: 

• You are seeking asylum in the UK. You will need an active asylum case to apply.
• A dependent or partner is seeking asylum in the UK. They will need an active asylum case for you to apply.
• You have been granted Discretionary or Limited Leave to Remain, or another form of temporary status as the result of an asylum claim.
• A dependent or partner has been granted Discretionary or Limited Leave to Remain, or another form of temporary status as the result of an asylum claim.

You must also meet all of the following criteria:

• You have a conditional or unconditional offer for entry on an undergraduate or postgraduate course at Liverpool Hope University.
• You are currently attending a school, college, community or voluntary group which can provide a reference in support of your application.
• You are unable to access mainstream funding such as student finance or a local authority grant.
• You live within commuting distance of Liverpool Hope University.
