The Diploma of Dental Technology at Holmesglen prepares you for a career as a dental technician in Australia. This practical, hands-on course covers the design, manufacture, and repair of dental appliances, including dentures, bridges, crowns, and mouthguards. Training takes place in purpose-built dental laboratories with industry-standard equipment and support from qualified dental technicians and prosthetists. Graduates gain the skills, confidence, and professional knowledge needed to work in dental laboratories, private practice, or specialist clinics. To maximise your employment opportunities, you will undertake specialised training in dental technology, including computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM). You will learn to design, manufacture, modify, and repair dental prostheses and appliances such as dentures, mouthguards, bridges, and crowns. This is a highly practical, hands-on dental technology course in Melbourne. You will train in Holmesglen’s purpose-built dental laboratories, using state-of-the-art, industry-standard equipment. Each student has their own workstation, providing the opportunity to practise dental technician skills in a real-world setting. You will be supported by our experienced teaching staff, who are all qualified dental technicians or dental prosthetists. They bring industry expertise and provide guidance to help you build confidence and succeed in your studies. In addition to technical training, you will gain essential professional skills, including communication, first aid, infection control, work health and safety (WHS), and business management, preparing you for work in dental laboratories, clinics, or your own private practice.
