The Master of Global Medicines Development (MGMD) is a one-of-a-kind degree jointly delivered by two of the world’s top-ranked institutions in pharmacy and pharmacology: Monash University’s Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Australia and the UNC Eschelman School of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the USA. Designed for students who want to lead, coordinate, and influence the future of medicine development globally, the program features expert international perspectives and real-world experience to prepare you to shape the future of healthcare across borders.

In today’s interconnected world, the development and distribution of medicines transcends national boundaries. The MGMD responds to this need by equipping you with the skills to navigate global regulatory systems, manage international supply chains, and lead cross-border pharmaceutical initiatives. You’ll explore contemporary advancements in pharmaceutical science, sustainable medicine development practices, pharmaceutical ethics and responsibility, regulatory science and leadership topics – all within a global context.

The program is taught by leading academics from both Monash and UNC, giving you a rich, dual-hemisphere perspective. Whilst the degree is based in Melbourne-Australia’s cultural capital and one of the world’s most liveable cities-you’ll also have the opportunity to complete a semester-long, faculty-organised placement either locally or in the North Carolina Research Triangle.
