Economics examines the behaviour and interactions of consumers, labour, business, government and organizations. Gain highly sought skills and in-depth knowledge about the economy that are applicable to various careers in a wide range of sectors including finance, governmental organizations and international agencies. Economics is the study of how societies provide for the well-being of their citizens and the public policies that promote this well-being. This degree uncovers how consumers, governments, and businesses interact to build a healthy (or fragile) society. Prepare for a mix of courses that touch on almost every social science. Apply theory and methodology to explain the causal relationships between wages, natural resources, inflation, public policy and more.Our Economics department places a special emphasis on courses that analyze institutions, facilitate comparative studies, encourage a historical approach, and recognize the pervasiveness of technological change.
