The Bachelor of Environmental Design program is a strong multidisciplinary undergraduate degree that provides a solid base of design education for students intending to pursue careers or graduate studies in a wide variety of disciplines, including the Faculty's master's degrees in Architecture, City Planning, Interior Design and Landscape Architecture, and at other institutions globally.Opening doors to the design industryA degree in Environmental Design could lead you to a career as an architecture technician, communication coordinator, furniture designer, project manager, draftsperson and more. Students holding a BEnvD are eligible to apply to the graduate departments of Architecture, City Planning, Interior Design and Landscape Architecture and to other graduate programs globally.Design studiosThe Environmental Design curriculum is structured around a design studio sequence that provides a forum for exploring the complex relationships between humans and the natural and built environments that constitute the places and artifacts of cultural production. Over a four-year period, you will develop the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue work in a wide variety of design practices.FacilitiesEnvironmental Design students have access to the Faculty of Architecture's many research and design facilities. The CADLab offers 18 powerful computers with industry standard software, three photo rooms, self-serve scanners, and a wide-format printer. The FABLab and workshop provide access to laser cutters, 3D printers, a CNC router, vacuum former and a wide range of tools for working with wood and plastic.Experiential learningThe Cooperative EducationIntegrated Work Program provides practical experience, assistance in financing your education, and guidance for future career specialization.
