Composition students develop their skills in our state-of-the-art electro-acoustic lab, aided by award-winning composition professors whose works are regularly performed and broadcast. Students may apply to move into the Composition concentration at the end of second year if they have the written recommendation of composition faculty and have maintained minimum grades of B in specified courses.The Bachelor of Music program prepares students for a successful career in the arts. Students study in a creative and collaborative environment and can shape their education to their aspirations. The program offers a wide range of program choices, all grounded in essential training.The education you receive in the Desautels Faculty of Music will prepare you for a wide range of careers, including traditional performance, music education, composition and history, and many other music and arts-related professions. We offer instruction in all orchestral, band and jazz instruments, piano and organ, all vocal areas and conducting.
