Graduate courses at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics are offered in a large range of topics in mathematics, statistics, probability, optimization, and actuarial sciences. The research interests of faculty members cover a broad spectrum of areas of theoretical and applied mathematics. The objective of our program is to prepare students for multiple career choices, as well as preparing them for the PhD programs in mathematics and statistics.The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers excellent undergraduate and graduate programs in a supportive environment. The research accomplishments and teaching experience of our faculty make us an excellent choice for your degree.At the undergraduate level, we offer programs leading to the degree Bachelor of Mathematics in mathematics or mathematics and statistics. We offer joint degrees with Computer Science and the Odette School of Business, concurrent degrees with the Faculty of Education, and a double major with almost any other program on campus. If you love mathematics but do not want a math degree, you will be interested in our Minor in Mathematics and Minor in Statistics opportunities.
